When it comes to the onset of Eat Drink Perth each year I have to admit I become giddy like a kid in a candy store. I love our fair city and the wonderful food and drink options we have at our fingertips. And this annual festival dedicated to culinary delights is the perfect opportunity to explore restaurants, events and basically go all out and indulge.
I'm so pleased to tell you that I've signed on as one of the official bloggers again this year for the festivities. To read about some of last year's events I attended, here's the post links:

Taste of Perth Festival
This year there are even more things to do and see during Eat Drink Perth, but somehow I have actually managed to narrow down my top 10 picks. Hopefully I’ll see you all there, smiling, laughing, eating and drinking. After all, the best foodie experiences are ones shared!
1. Night Noodle Market
Starting on Wednesday 18 March, we’ll find ourselves transported to an authentic Asian hawker market with pizazz, the heady scent of spices, and the steam of hot woks permeating the air. I can’t wait to fill my belly with a variety of noodle goodness and hopefully I’ll find some chrysanthemum tea or A&W root beer to wash it all down!
2. Meet the Chefs
I think anyone who considers themselves a bit of a foodie will be excited to stop by the Twilight Hawker Markets on Friday 27 March. I know I’ll be going a bit gaga to meet the rockstar of the sustainable cooking world, Matt Stone, plus dessert king Adriano Zumbo and Shaun Presland from the beautiful Sake Restaurant. If you’re coming, make sure you bring your cookbooks to get signed – plus you’ll get to hear all about their passion for food.
3. The Creatives Long Table Dinner
I can already picture this dinner on Saturday 28 March in my mind! A long table, trademark natural green intimate aesthetic and share dishes by award winning chefs is already ticking all the boxes for me! But then add in that it’s a secret location and styled by the extremely talented Stacey Clark Stylist and I am completely sold. I love the mystery, the whimsy and the blind trust we’ll put in when booking this – and best of all, I already am so sure it will be one of the highlights of this series of events.
4. Food Truck Rumble
Get your engines (and tummies) rumbling everyone because 30 different food truck options are coming our way! If you’re like me, you’re already following the truck announcements on the rumble’s instagram account. Now I just need to figure out the best strategy to try as many different trucks as possible on the day before I get too full! But at least when I’ve had too much to eat, there’ll be a breakdancing competition to kick back and watch which definitely will inject even more funk into this event on Sunday 12 April.
5. Custard & Co with Fervor
Hosted at Perth’s urban oasis Perth City Farm by Australian Gourmet Traveller journalist Max Veenhuyzen, this event is all things local as Fervor events always are. For the $160 price tag, guests will be treated to a high with high quality native food and beautiful, locally produced cider. Mark Wednesday 22 April in your diaries, I think this will be one of the absolute highlights of Eat Drink Perth for sure.
6. Breastfed at the Standard
It’s great to see newcomer the Standard join in on the festivities and also double up as a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Care WA on Sunday 19 April. I’ll take any excuse to dress up in pink with my girlfriends and look forward to an afternoon in their garden with wine, food and great company – all for a great cause!
7. Food for Thought Cooking Class
Cooking classes are such a fun way to get your hands dirty (and your stomach growling) while meeting like minded food obsessed individuals. I’m already signed up for this class by OzHarvest and PCEC which will be run by celebrity chef Ian Parmenter on Wednesday 25 March. For me, food sustainability is a topic of extreme importance and one you’ll often hear me harp on about so the discussions at this event will provide some valuable insight.
8. Martinis and Oysters
Thursdays just got a whole lot better with the introduction of perfectly stirred martinis and six freshly shucked oysters for only $20 at the kitschy but always wonderful Frisk Small Bar. I’m an absolute fiend for oysters, so I can already see myself camped out here, gulping down oyster after oyster with immense happiness.
9. Northbridge Nights Adventure
I think playing ‘tourist’ in your own city can be such fun! Food Loose Tours bring the fun into food adventures as they take you through the streets of Northbridge to discover the suburb’s hottest new dining establishments. I’ve been on some other Food Loose Tours and the fact that it’s run by a fellow food blogger means you’re in the hands of a truly food obsessed individual. These are definitely going to be a progressive means of dining! Just remember (learn from my mistakes), pace yourself because a lot of food is involved!
10. 2015 Man vs Meatball Eating Competition
I think we’re all a bit guilty of falling into the trap of watching Man vs Food marathons and watching stunned and silent at the sheer quantity of food he often consumes in their episode competitions. I mean, who doesn’t love a good food competition! And since Lalla Rookh is already one of my favourite restaurants, I’m really looking forward to nominating my boy to enter their meatball competition for a chance to take home the trophy. I’ll have to tell him to keep Thursday 23 April free ;)
Really looking forward to Night Noodle Market and the second Food Truck Rumble! Alissa and I were going to go to Lalla Rookh's Pork and Cider event but we've just booked a trip to Sydney with 5 degustations planned, so gotta save the cash!
